LR/LM side entry agitator

The side entry agitator range is designed for use in low viscosity product mixing and maintenance applications. They are used in processing and storage tanks in the food industry for products such as wine, oil, milk, beer, juice, and alcohol.

One of the features of the side entry agitators is that they are economical when used in large volume tanks compared to vertical agitators used with the same tank volume.

Our standard side entry agitator range includes LR models, which are agitators driven by a geared motor operating at 200 rpm. Operating at low revolutions provides smooth product agitation or maintenance. In addition, we have the LM model, driven by a direct motor at velocities of either 1000 rpm or 1500 rpm, producing more intense agitation.

These agitators are installed at an angle in the bottom of the tank’s ring. Their operating principle is based on rotating a propeller that creates a flow to push the product towards the tank bottom. This makes the product flow upwards along the tank sides on the opposite side to the agitator towards the liquid’s surface.

These agitators are robustly built and easy to maintain. Given their dimensions and low consumption, they are the ideal solution for installations with energy consumption restrictions or for large tanks in which mounting a vertical agitator is not feasible.

The engineering department performs mixing process simulations using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), in order to produce the best possible product and provide the best solution.

Quality of our side entry agitators is a major advantage. Compared to competitors or more industrial use agitators, these agitators have a superb surface finish, with a roughness of Ra 0.8 for every part that comes into contact with the product, along with quality finishes that our customers rate highly.

One of the main differences with our side entry agitators compared to our competitors is that every LR side entry agitator geared motor uses NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) H1 category (incidental food contact) food oil. This international organisation audits product manufacturing processes to determine whether a product complies with specific safety, quality, and sustainability standards.

Along with being very important and essential in terms of quality and safety for the sector, this adds value to our agitator range, setting us apart from our competitors and establishing good practices.

INOXPA has several versions and optional features for these agitators, such as different types of seals and materials, a high flow propeller option for LR agitators, a stainless steel shroud, motors with other protection levels, and an optional ATEX version.
