In order to meet these goals, one phase requiring optimisation in the food processing, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors is the cleaning phase.

The INOXPA components (pumps, valves, and agitators) used in installations in the food processing, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors are hygienically designed, meaning they are easy to clean without requiring disassembly. Some of these components have EHEDG and/or 3 A certification, guaranteeing that they comply with the highest requirements demanded by this type of industry.

INOXPA production equipment, such as pasteurisers, reactors, and other blending equipment are designed in accordance with the strictest hygiene standards, meaning they can be cleaned as efficiently as possible.

And using INOXPA CIP cleaning systems will enable you to optimise every potential aspect of your cleaning process.

Water saving

  • Good hygienic design of equipment requiring internal cleaning, along with a good selection of cleaning balls or spray systems will lead to very substantial water savings.
  • CIP systems can come with a tank, which recovers water from rinsing phases to use it for the first rinse of the next cleaning process.
  • INOXPA can design the CIP system with a turbidity sensor in the return flow in order to limit rinses to the minimum time required without negatively affecting cleaning efficacy.

Energy saving  

  • A very significant energy saving can be obtained by using the highly efficient HCP pump range, along with a good choice of CIP impulsion and return pumps with the suitable impeller diameter, and where necessary, operating with a variable speed drive.
  • Another aspect to consider for energy saving involves optimising the heating system to the services available to the customer.

Chemical product saving

  • INOXPA’s CIP systems operate with recirculation or return in tank as much as possible, representing a major saving in chemical products.
  • Optimal installation cleaning using a limited amount of chemical product can be achieved with good control over chemical product concentration through conductivity readings, both during return and inside the storage tanks themselves.

Time saving

  • Optimising each stage of the CIP system can also save time, without sacrificing cleaning efficacy, which will also lead to water, energy, and chemical product saving.
  • Basing the sizing of the CIP system on the installation requiring cleaning and the chemical products to use is extremely important to avoid down times.
  • Using heating and dosing systems in each tank of chemical product will reduce preparation times.

A CIP system can be complemented with use of an INOXPA PIG product recovery system. Using this system will provide the following benefits:

Finished product recovery

Using the PIG system directly after finalising the transfer phase will enable the recovery of up to 98% of product remaining in the pipes, which could represent considerable value.

Waste reduction

If the remaining product in pipes is not recovered, it has to go down the drain, requiring a treatment or purification process, which are increasingly more demanding and expensive.

CIP process simplification

If the product has been recovered from pipes, it simplifies the subsequent CIP cleaning process, saving water, energy, and chemical products.
